Flower parade

A unique flower show in Noordwijkerhout:
The flower parade is a colorful display featuring beautiful arrangements of all the spring flowers from the bulb-growing region. Admire the exhibition in the monumental White Church in the center of Noordwijkerhout. The themed design is by the renowned florist “Marleen’s Bloemdecoratie.” Gardeners will be on hand daily to provide information about flowers and bulbs. The flowers are supplied by local Noordwijkerhout growers.

Flower Event opening hours: Wednesday, April 15 to Sunday, April 18.

• Flower mosaics: Thousands of hyacinth flowers are transformed into colorful works of art. Many vibrant flower mosaics are on display in the beautiful garden surrounding the White Church in the center of Noordwijkerhout. Work on the mosaics will begin on-site on Wednesday, April 15. It’s fascinating to watch them being created. From Thursday, April 15, to Sunday, the finished mosaics can be admired. Around the Witte Kerk (White Church), there are several cozy terraces where you can enjoy the floral splendor with a snack and a drink. WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15, TO FRIDAY MORNING, APRIL 17: Setup Times. Have you ever wanted to see how a float is built? Then take a look behind the scenes. In large halls, hundreds of volunteers decorate the floats with fragrant and colorful spring flowers such as hyacinths, daffodils, tulips, and many other bulbs over three days. The flowers are attached to the float’s design in a special way; this is called “staking.” If you’re lucky, you might even get to try it yourself. Thursday, April 16th, Children’s Parade Noordwijkerhout, 6:00 PM.

• A joyful parade of children with flower-decorated bicycles, go-karts, and other vehicles. On Thursday, April 16th, the cheerful and noisy colorful parade of children will travel through the center of the village, following this route: Market Square – Havenstraat – Zeestraat – Victoriberg – Dorpsstraat – Havenstraat – Market Square. From 6:00 PM, the children will gather in the Market Square to decorate their bicycles, tractors, and other vehicles (all materials will be provided free of charge!). At 7:00 PM, the parade, led by the Altesa drum group, will proceed through the center of Noordwijkerhout.

Friday, April 17th, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Illuminated Flower Parade Noordwijkerhout).

• On Friday evening, you can see our flower parade in a different light. In the evening, we’ll light thousands of lights on the floats and drive a route through the picturesque village center of Noordwijkerhout. Would you like to see the magnificent floats and luxury vehicles up close? You can do so starting Friday afternoon, when the floats are displayed in the streets and squares of this bulb-growing village. Local businesses will be providing entertaining street activities. As darkness falls, we’ll light up the floats and drive through the atmospheric streets of Noordwijkerhout. Will you be cheering on the participants? • Flower Parade from Noordwijk to Haarlem: A 42-kilometer-long parade with floats adorned with beautiful hyacinths and other colorful spring flowers. A fantastic experience! The bulb-growing region’s flower parade offers a five-day spring flower festival. All the bulb-growing communities and the flower city of Haarlem participate with numerous parade activities.
